Suet pellet tips and advice

Suet pellets provide a convenient alternative to suet fat balls and blocks, as they do not require bespoke feeders.

How to feed suet pellets to birds?

Semi-solid suet pellets are best served on a bird table, ground feeder or in a suet pellet feeder. Mix with bird seed for a bird table banquet or add as high energy option on your bird feeding station.

Do hedgehogs eat suet pellets for birds?

Yes, hedgehogs happily eat bird suet pellets especially those mixed with insects (not mealworms), but they should only be consumed in small portions as part of a balanced diet. Suet pellets are high in fat, so eating too many could lead to obesity and other issues.

Can ducks eat wild bird suet pellets?

Do not feed suet pellets to ducks, as they struggle to process the high fat content. If you want a handy treat for the local ducks, try scattering wild bird seed mix on the ground rather than a bag of stale bread.
